Introduction to the engineering of living systems with special emphasis on engineering principles.  Learning of fundamental bioengineering knowledge and tools is motivated by real-world challenges including infectious diseases, essential medicine supply chains, biodiversity loss and extinction, digital data storage, organ shortages, cancers, agricultural resilience, and cultural challenges including fear of biotechnology. Social, ethical, and policy aspects of bioengineering are also introduced.  No prior experience required!
